Vitamin B12 Injections
What are Vitamin B12 Injections?
The Vitamin B12 injection is an effective way to treat a deficiency. There is only one type of vitamin B12 injection available in the UK, known as hydroxocobalamin. Vitamin B12 tablets, also known as cyanocobalamin, can be bought over the counter from pharmacies or health stores, but are not as effective as the injection.
The Procedure
A monthly starter course will be recommended if you have not had B12 injections before. This will consist of an initial package of ten treatments over four weeks. Then a monthly treatment.
A very small needle is delivered intramuscularly. There is minimal discomfort during the procedure which only takes a few minutes.
How does it work?
B12 gives your body a natural energy boost. It also helps strengthen your immune system, tiredness, weakness, Dementia, Megaloblastic anaemia, constipation & depression.
