What is Blemish Removal using Electrolysis?

Non-Surgical Blemish Removal is a very safe, effective, and quick procedure involving the removal of vascular and pigmented lesions such as skin tags, thread veins, campbell de morgans, seborrhoeic keratosis, warts and spider naevi using electrical currents.  It is commonly known as advanced electrolysis.

How does it work?

Short wave diathermy and thermocoagulation are used to quickly and effectively remove blemishes from the skin.

The Procedure

A very fine needle probe is used to pass the heat of the electrical current into the tissue.  We use ‘Disposable Needles’ and a full range of Professional Hygiene products to ensure your comfort and safety, as part of the special care we take to protect you from infection.

Are the effects permanent?

Yes, If you follow a targeted treatment plan. Skin blemishes are often removed in one Easy 15-Minute Treatment

Potential side effects.

During the first few days the area will be sensitive, show redness and a little swelling. Larger lesions may develop scabbing.  Providing the correct aftercare instructions are followed to prevent infection, the risks of any scarring is minimal. Deeper lesions may leave a faint residual pink mark on lighter skins or a deeper pigmented area on darker skins.

Post treatment advice.

A good hygienic home-care will avoid any spots or minor infections occurring. It’s important to take extra care of the treated area, especially within the first 36/48 hours.

The skin should be left for a sufficient period of time for healing to take place before any make-up is applied. It must always be removed gently with unperfumed products that are suitable for sensitive skins. Lotions are less prone to promote infection than cream products.

Avoid sun exposure as much as possible for a minimum of three days post treatment, if you must be in the sun, apply an SPF40 + and reapply often.

Wear a hat and seek shade where possible. If a rash or minor infection appears at any time in the treated area an antiseptic cream/powder can be used. You can purchase Calamine Powder from the clinic. Cortisone/steroid creams should not be used

 When is treatment not advisable?

We will of course review your medical history in full during your consultation to ensure this treatment is suitable for you.
