What is Microneedling?

Microneedling  is a revolutionary micro-needling (collagen induction) treatment which induces a ‘controlled injury to the skin’ causing collagen and elastin fibres to be stimulated and re produced. 

This simple yet incredibly effective treatment gives efficient results for a wide range of skin concerns with minimal downtime.

The Procedure

After cleansing the skin, the dermapen small needles to prick the skin. 

How does it work?

The technique has an incredible rejuvenating effect to the skin, by boosting the natural collagen and elastin, cell turnover is increased, lines and wrinkles are softened & pores & scarring including stretch marks are radically improved.

Potential side effects

The most common side effect is minor skin irritation immediately following the procedure. You may also see redness and dryness for a few days.  The use of a good moisturiser will help.

Post treatment advice

To maximize the effectiveness in the treated area you must refrain from touching the area. Avoid applying makeup for up to 12 hours. Avoid vigorous exercise after treatment and any facials for up to 72 hours. Avoid extreme sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures and sauna/steam rooms / jacuzzis for 2 weeks after treatment.

Always apply a SPF 50 sunscreen

When is treatment not advisable

Most people can have Microneedling. However, you should NOT have this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. We will of course review your medical history in full during your consultation to ensure this treatment is suitable for you.
